How to Install Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean based CM10.1 ROM on Xperia Z
Step 1. First Most important thing is ti download the latest CM 10.1 build on your desktop and don’t extract all these files on your desktop. So Download CM10.1 ROM 4.2.2 Jelly Bean ROM For Xperia Z [Filename: cm-10.1-20130415-NIGHTLY-yuga.zip] and Google Apps [Filename: gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip] on your desktop.
Step 2. Now Connect your Sony Xperia with your computer via USB cable. Now move both the above downloaded files on your Device Sdcard.
Step 3. Now unplug it from the computer and turn off the device. Boot into recovery mode. To do so, reboot phone and press Volume Up button few times while booting. [use volume buttons to scroll and Power button to select]. Or you can follow this guide to enter into recovery mode.
Step 4. from here select wipe data/factory reset, then select Yes and wait for few seconds to perform this action, After that come back to recovery menu and select wipe cache partition and after wiping process done, select Wipe Dalvik Cache under advance option to perform Dalvik cache wiping.
Step 5. Now time to install the Custom ROM on your Device and Google App. TO do this go to the recovery main menu and then select choose zip from sdcard. Now find the above download CM 10.1 file on your device and flash it. Once it is completed repeat the same process again but this time choose the Google Apps(Gapps) File on the screen and install it. Step 6. Go back to the recovery menu and select reboot system now to reboot the phone. Now you phone will reboot and don’t worry it will take some time to complete the installation process on your Sony Xperia Z.
