NOTE: To apply this update you need a rooted nexus 4 (How to Root LG Nexus 4 Easily) and custom recovery is installed on your device. And remember one thing do not proceed if you don’t have Android 4.2 JOP40C already installed. Update your PC with latest LG Nexus 4 USB drivers. Download LG Android USB drivers Also don’t forget to Enable USB Debugging feature on your device.
How to Install Android 4.2.2 JDQ39 OTA Official Update on Nexus 4
Step 1. To apply this update you need a rooted device, Now Download Android 4.2.2 JDQ39 OTA Update and save it on your PC. Optional– Download SU.zip to regain root. (if desired)
Step 2. Connect your Nexus 4 with PC via USB cable.
Step 3. Now copy/paste the Android 4.2.2 zip on your SD card to update the device.
Step 4. Now Turn Off your device.
Step 5. Reboot your Nexus 4, Holding Volume Up + Volume Down + Power buttons till you see the Fastboot menu and START on top.
Step 6. Follow the navigation instructions on the screen. Press Volume Up button several times till you see RECOVERY and press Power button to select it.
Step 7 – In ClockworkMod recovery, scroll down to “flash zip from SD card” and press the Power button to select it. Press Power button again and select “choose zip from sdcard”.
Step 8. Now using volume key select the Android 4.2.2 file that you saved on your SD card. Select it with click of power button.
Step 9. The installation process will take some time. After the installation process compete, Flash the SU.zip to regain root. (if desired). Go back and hit the reboot option to restart the device. The phone will boot now and it might take some time to boot on your first time
Congrats! You now have Android 4.2.2 on Nexus 4.
